7 Day South Island Wine & Adventure Tours
Bubbly Grape Tours has introduced a seven-day wine and adventure tour for up to eight discerning wine lovers. This amazing experience will take you on a guided wine and food sightseeing tour from Blenheim to Queenstown (or Queenstown to Blenheim).
Come with our fun and informative tour guide on this amazing 7 day tour of the South Island.
Explore vineyards and wineries from Marlborough to Queenstown – tasting delicious wines and learning of the wine process from grape to cellar. Experience dolphin encounters, fly over beautiful mountains and explore historical towns.
After overnighting in Blenheim, the wine producing capital of New Zealand, we spend a day exploring a mix of large, small and family wineries in the Marlborough region.
Mid afternoon we travel to Kaikoura where we will spend the following day enjoying the mountain views, the abundance of crayfish and other seafood delicacies, going to sea on a whale watching trip, or the exhilaration of a scenic flight.
We spend the second day in Kaikoura where guests can book a whale watch trip, the Dolphin encounter, or a scenic flight over the Kaikoura mountains and peninsula.
On the third day we will travel over the spectacular Hundalee Hills and on to North Canterbury, where we will call in at the Waipara Valley wineries where you will spend time learning about and savouring their unique, rich and spicy Pinot Noirs and Rieslings.
That night we will stay in Christchurch and here we provide two options for your accommodation. You can stay in an upmarket 5 star hotel, or, as a budget option, we will put you in jail for the night (at the Addington Prison Jailhouse accommodation).
Day four will see you being delivered to the railway station for the full day Trans Alpine Train Ride, then that night we will once again stay in Christchurch where we will get together – both free and incarcerated populations – for a sumptuous meal at a top restaurant.
Day five sees us travel across the Canterbury plain, Burkes Pass, and on to Lake Tekapo where we will stay the night.
On day six we travel to Cromwell to explore the re-constructed historical village, then that night we’ll stay in Gibbston Valley.
The following day we will visit up to six of the Otago wineries located in the Kawarau Gorge on the road to Queenstown before overnighting in Queenstown.
The next morning, after breakfast, we say goodbye to those who wish to stay in Queenstown for a little longer, and your guide will then return to Christchurch with those participants who choose to do so.
